Scholarships, literacy programs, and learning initiatives that open doors for children, youth, and adult learners.
A private foundation · Toronto, Canada
We support registered Canadian charities working to strengthen education, health, and the everyday well-being of communities — with patience, care, and a long view.

The F&R Hauer Charitable Foundation was established to carry forward a family's commitment to giving back. Based in Toronto, the Foundation directs its resources to qualified donees across Canada whose work improves lives in lasting, measurable ways.
We believe that meaningful change is built over years, not months. That is why we favour durable relationships with trusted organizations, support that strengthens their core work, and grants made with humility about what we know and respect for those doing the work on the ground.
Our grants are directed to registered Canadian charities and other qualified donees across a small number of areas where we believe support can have lasting effect.

Scholarships, literacy programs, and learning initiatives that open doors for children, youth, and adult learners.

Food security, social services, and community organizations that help families meet everyday needs with dignity.
Hospitals, research, and community health programs that improve access to quality care.
Institutions and programs that enrich civic life and keep cultural heritage alive.
Timely support for charities responding to urgent needs in Canada and abroad.
The Foundation primarily makes grants to organizations it identifies and knows well. We do not currently accept unsolicited applications, but we welcome introductions.
